One Last Shout Out From The West Coast Interns

Here on the WEST COAST, the summer is winding down, and we are forced to say goodbye, alas! Time has flown by!

Today was the award ceremony hosted by Allie and Jacqueline; it was hilarious. Awards included Feistiest Feminist(DANAE), The Persuader(ANITA), and Most likely to get someone on a cell phone to sign a petition(JULIA). Unfortunately, our office squirrel(who broke in this summer and wanted to be an FMF intern) was left out of the ceremony, but the cutest feminist chipmunk made an appearance (ANA) .

We are now all sitting down to think back and record(via blog!) some of the amazing adventures, conversations, hilarious moments, and things we learned this summer.

Highlights:
1. Bonding with Milton from EQUALITY CALIFORNIA (one of our favorite field trips to help organize for marriage equality)

2. Meetings with Barbara Boxer, Roja Bandari, Ellie Smeal, and Helen Cho

3. Brief encounters with (very brief but awesome!) Dolores Huerta, Larry King, Maria Shriver, and Christiane Amanpour

4. A PHONE CALL FROM GLORIA STEINEM! (Well she didn't call for us but... we answered the phone and transferred her!!)

5. Exclusive regular meetings with world renowned feminist leaders... JACQUELINE SUN AND ALLIE MCDONALD!

6. Surprisingly informative conversations on campus visits with conservative-leaning supporters

7. Santa Barabra city college canvassing might be considered "work"... BUT IS REALLY QUALITY BEACH TIME!

8. Cookies baking, quickly luring all FMF employees into the kitchen for a snack time.

9. Lunch breaks full of feminist discussion, laughter, and Sal's INCREDIBLE banana bread!

10. Feminists coming together, forming unbreakable bonds that will live with us forever. <3

This internship was a wonderful experience. We have learned from each other, and created a life long support group to take on the issues and pursue the equality that is so important to us. We've taken the 90212 by storm, and Beverly Dr. will be forever changed.
